Kathryn Flack Potts

I'm a visiting assistant professor of linguistics in the school of cognitive science at Hampshire College. I'm also a research analyst in Hampshire's Institutional Research office.

My linguistic research investigates the roles of formal and functional factors in explaining phonological phenomena. That is, I'm interested in how phonetics and phonology interact to shape grammars. I address these issues through formal phonological analysis, typological surveys, phonetic experimentation, and computational modelling.
