DIVISION I LEARNING GOALS
To complete Division I at Hampshire College you
will need to demonstrate at the end of this year that you have satisfied
the seven Division I learning goals. This means you will put together
a portfolio of work you have done that demonstrates your progress
in achieving these goals.
Assignments in the Human Biology class will help you make progress
towards satisfying five and possibly six (depending on your choice
of final project) of those learning goals.
The chart below summarizes the seven goals
and how your work in Human Biology is designed to help you build
skills in some of these areas. In the beginning of the semester
you may think you don't know how to do all those things or even
what some of them mean. That's as it should be. The course is structured
to teach you how to do those things, and if you complete all the
assignments in a thoughtful timely way, you will make excellent
progress in those areas.
