South Asia Links

The South Asian region seems to have embraced the Internet with an overwhelming passion. The number of sites based on the sub-continent has increased exponentially in the past decade, and although the quality of the sites varies, the range gives us a sense of the multiplicity of voices that co-exist in the region. While any search engine on the web can give you access to these sites, some of my favorite are listed below.

Music and Entertainment

The Indian film industry (also known as Bollywood!) is among the most prolific in the world, and generates a wide variety of publications. Most of the mainstream "filmi" magazines are available on the web. The best known magazines are:

Filmfare: www.filmfare.com/

Bollywood Online: www.bollywoodonline.com/
