TEXTS AND ADDITIONAL READING FOR NS 121

Tutorial students should also purchase a 2" three-ring notebook.
This will become your Division I portfolio that will be due mid semester and at the end of the year.

REQUIRED: Human Biology: Health, Homeostasis and the Environment (4th edition). Daniel D. Chiras. Jones and Bartlett Publishers.

Textbook of Medical Physiology* by Arthur Guyton and John Hall (optional)

Cases (will be handed out in class; some material on web site)

Research articles (will be handed out in class or placed on reserve)

Reserve material. Medical texts and articles are on reserve in the reference shelf in the library. You don't need to purchase them. Some will be available to download on the NS-121 web site.

* Human Biology by Chiras is a very good introductory human biology text, and the reading assignments for the course will be from that text.

Textbook of Medical Physiology by Guyton & Hall is for those who have strong backgrounds in biology and want to use a more advanced medically oriented text.

Both will be on reserve, but you should purchase Chiras to keep up with the assignments and only purchase Guyton and Hall if you want a more advanced supplement.
